June 19th, 2009 Posted in Gap year ProgramSince its emergence, it became the mostly highly recommended program by various prestigious universities all over the world. From the Harvard University, Princeton and more they are encouraging all the fresh graduate high school students as well as their parents to take the gap year program for a year before they were going to decide hopping to college. The gap year program has been popular in the countries like UK and Australia for decades; because it helps their students getting ready to go on in the college life. Recently, the America is already adapting the said program for the benefits of their students and parents.
Why do you think your high school students need to participate in the said program before hopping to college? Because most of these students are not ready yet of getting involve in the college life. Most of them want to explore something that interests them. This is the reason why most of these students are opting to stop from schooling and a year after; they already have decided to enroll in college. Eventually, the gap year program was designed to give the students the time to explore what interests them. The concept of the gap year program is to expose the students in another country choosing the activity that they like. They are like volunteering abroad.
Indeed, this kind of program is a cringe to both parents and students yet this would surely give them benefits; benefits that they could use as their weapon in looking for a job or even in their life’s circumstances. Through the gap year program your children will be more independent, responsible and tough enough to face the reality of his environment. It can develop their personality to take whatever challenges that would cross their life. This is how the program works to them. However, for the parents this kind of program is still a big deal. With this kind of dilemma parents should have to get gap year insurance for their kid’s safety when they were already in the other countries operating the program.
