Medical PractitionersCollege program has done enough to prepare students for further careers they would want to take right after college. But the decision to take on a medical career should be a well-though one. This should not e done on a hastily manner. I for one thought that I was carved for the medical career yet I discovered half way through the journey that that path is not meant for me.

This article is for those who are contemplating on taking on a medical career. For those who would want to pursue the noble profession of healing. Most if not all dropped out of med school half way through their course. For they found the whole career not to their liking and the sad thing is they already spent thousands of dollars just to be there.

So pre-med gap year gives the students a glimpse of the medical career lifestyle and it is the a critical experience for it will be the foundation for choosing or not choosing a medical career. You have the choice to be a foreign exchange students or you wil have to take a gap year in your local hospital. You weigh the advantages and disadvantages.

If your view your medical career life as tame then perhaps you cross borders and see what the medical life is abroad. You have the choice to join the hundred volunteers in the developing countries and get a chance of a dip in different level of your medical career. Or you may visit the first world countries and see what is in store for you there.

Most pre-med students though would grab a chance for a gap year in the developing countries for they would have a hands on experience in helping the patients and a glimpse of the medical situation in thee countries. Doctors would be just glad to have a helping hand with the patients. Of course you are not expected to treat patients or give prescriptions.

International education really helps students on their decision making.
