Three Choices for your Gap Year

Gap year is the time where young people take the time off and explore the world before going to college or before pursuing a life long career. This gives them a time to decide on what to do in their lives, what career path to take and so on. There are three of the choices that they usually choose to take during their gap year, these are to volunteer, to travel or to work.

To Volunteer. This is one of the common choices that mostly embark on in their gap year. They volunteer to different kinds of organizations either it is abroad or just volunteer at home but often most of them do volunteer abroad. The programs that mostly they get involved are charity projects like helping orphanages, building community, clinics, schools and many more. There are also volunteer works that are for environmental consciousness and for school programs. Try checking out the local community they may also have volunteer works that you can take part and at the same time help your community.

To Work. This is also one of the choices with what one can do in their gap year, to work. To those who choose to work in their gap year makes it an advantage, this is because working a year helps in knowing what kind of work and career that you would want to pursue in the future. Working a year simply helps you to distinguish what kind of work that you like and don’t like what are those disadvantages and advantages and so on.

To Travel. From the two mentioned above, traveling is the popular one. This is one of the comprehensive things that you can do in your gap year. By traveling, you will be exposed to the different countries and different cultures. Be it, in the Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America, wherever it is, you will surely learn a lot of things and perhaps may let you discern what to do and what to pursue after your gap year.
